"Wattles Wisdom" by Jeannette Koczela

Just about everything that has been written in the 20th century about success and wealth can be traced back to the principles Wallace Wattles wrote about in his book, "The Science of Getting Rich". In this popular book, published in 1910, he revealed the secret to the Law of Attraction and creative visualization. His book guides you step by step through his "Certain Way", which unfolds a process that most wealthy people have used to become wealthy.

Although volumes have been written about the Law of Attraction by authors such as Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, and Rhonda Byrne, Wattles’ “Certain Way” can be summarized as follows:

What he is saying is that there is a universal “substance” or mind that receives our thoughts and brings the desired result into material form. And our part is to mentally visualize our desires and develop a feeling of gratitude that they are being fulfilled.

Wattles wants us to understand that our desire to be rich is natural and necessary.  He emphasizes that our thoughts are very powerful and that by using our thoughts in the right way, we have the power to create our own reality. And the “right” or “certain” way is to only focus on positive thoughts of what you truly want. That is because the universal substance is sensitive to any thought and therefore you only want it to produce the things you want, not the things you don’t want.

And that is the reason why he says to create a mental image of your desire. Then you are focusing on it in a positive way and giving it power. You concentrate your thought power and your attention on your desires and thus increase the speed of its manifestation. He also recommends feeling of gratitude towards the universal substance for granting our desires in advance of their receipt. This allows us to develop trust and faith, and it is through these that our desires get fulfilled.
